Chocolate desserts have their very own fan base. This amazingly easy recipe of dense chocolate truffle coated in toasted nutty sesame will certainly rope in more fans.

The rich creamy condensed milk sweetly enwraps the soft salty melting butter and the intensely chocolaty cocoa while accentuating the flavours with the fragrant vanilla. The toasted sesame seeds coat the decadent chocolate truffles giving them a striking nuttiness.

Savouring a few of these decadent chocolate balls can surely enhance the mood and please the heart!

The secret agent here is- “cocoa”. Now, cocoa contains flavanols which keep depression at bay and uplifts mood instantly. Furthermore, cocoa is an excellent antioxidant. It contains anti-inflammatory properties and also helps keep the blood pressure in check.

Fascinating as it may sound, the Auguste Escoffier’s century-old chocolate truffle recipe actually happened by accident.

This chocolate truffle recipe is a simple and convenient way to recreate the classic French dessert within 10 minutes.

It’s simple as all you need to do is pour the ingredients in a pan and stir for a few minutes. I say convenient because it only needs 4 readily available ingredients.

Now, rolling the chocolate balls can seem like a task. Thankfully, they don’t have to be perfect round shaped. Get your family or friends involved in the rolling bit.

For the yummy nutty texture, besides the toasted sesame seeds, toasted coconut scrapings or coconut powder work well too. The attractive colour contrast makes the chocolate truffles appear all the more tempting.

Instructions

Preparing the chocolate truffle mixture

Add the salted butter, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder and vanilla in the wide non-stick pan.

Now, turn on the stove. Keep the flame low for the entire cooking process.

Using a spatula, continuously keep mixing the ingredients so that there are no lumps. While mixing, also scrape the sides of the pan to avoid the mixture from sticking on the sides.

The truffle mixture will gradually thicken and be ready in about 5-7 minutes. Once the truffle mixture is ready, remove it on a lightly greased tray or plate.

Preparing the chocolate balls

Apply some butter on your palms and start making the chocolate balls.

Tip: Test by making 1 truffle ball. If the truffle mixture feels too sticky to roll, place the entire mixture in the freezer for about 10 minutes before beginning to roll.

Coating the chocolate truffles

Lightly toast the white sesame seeds on a pan for a minute or two over low flame. Take them out on a dry plate and spread evenly. Carefully roll the prepared chocolate balls over the toasted sesame seeds.

Your chocolate truffle coated in toasted nutty sesame is ready to be devoured.

Tip: If the above coating process seems slightly messy, simply shower the toasted sesame seeds on the freshly prepared chocolate balls.

Some yummy coating options for chocolate truffle include- “chocolate shavings” and “sugar sprinklers”. Sugar sprinklers can surely get the kids screaming with joy. Serve them as cake pops on a stick to avoid messy eating.

If you are using unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt to the recipe.

This recipe of chocolate truffle coated in toasted nutty sesame uses sweetened condensed milk, therefore there is no need to add sugar separately.
